UGANDA

JULY 19-29 - Led by Gail Mahler

In Uganda, you will spend two weeks coming alongside our ministry partner, Manafwa Family Support Initiative, which champions the Precious Souls Ministry. This is a ministry that supports community volunteers in rural Uganda to visit close to 300 homes every year to assess the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of orphans, children, widows and families affected by HIV. Despite global success in reducing deaths due to HIV/AIDS, HIV persists, and many innocent children continue to be born with or are exposed to the HIV virus. The Uganda ministry focuses on these innocent precious souls - babies, children and youth, many single or double orphans having lost one or both parents over the past two decades. They are hopeful and resilient, encouraged by short term mission partners who come every summer to run a Children's Bible Camp over a three day weekend. They sing songs, act out plays, read bible stories, memorize bible verses, they laugh and they will make you cry, sharing searing testimonies about how this ministry has literally saved their lives.
