  • Lampstand Training trains local church leaders in Bible, character and outreach.
  • Youth Transform Indonesia comes alongside local churches to mentor their own youth, stemming the many who would otherwise marry and become Muslims, or fall into immorality.
  • Open Heart disciples parents to accept and develop their own children with disabilities.

CHUCK & SHARON

SOUTHEAST ASIA

After 25 years focused on a specific people group – engaging in church planting, literature development, and prayer ministry at various times – Chuck and Sharon were invited to another area in the same country to join a team helping to coach new Pioneers workers in 2016.  This “launch team” was shut down in 2020 after having sent 12 families and a single on to new and forming teams.  Now Chuck and Sharon are serving as resource people for local expat and national cross-cultural workers, as well seeking to do outreach to local unreached people groups in their city.

MISSION:
To work among Muslims in Southeast Asia. The primary ministry focus is to the youth in the region, helping to empower and to grow in relationship with them.

PRAY FOR US

BRENT, BONNIE & ANNA

  • Every year, we train 100-150 church leaders in Bible, character and outreach. Pray that our trainees – and those they reach -- would be open about their character flaws and courageously share their faith.
  • Many Indonesian church youth date & marry those from other faiths, and leave the church & the faith. Other youth fall into worldliness. Please pray that our mentors in 80 churches will be consistent godly role models.
  • From their culture, Indonesian parents have internalized that their children with disabilities are a curse. So they hide those children away. Praise the Lord that dozens are internalizing Bible truths that their children with disabilities are God’s gift to their family, and so are developing these children.

CHUCK & SHARON

  • Pray for the local church in Southeast Asia.  In recent years there have been individuals and churches becoming enthusiastic about reaching their Muslim neighbors with the gospel.  Pray that this trend would continue, and many new laborers would be sent into the harvest.
  • Pray for revival and lasting fruit. Over the years there have been several “mass movements” that seem to have faded away, with many of those who professed Christ as Savior turning back to their previous beliefs.
  • Pray for unity among the workers.  There is currently an influx of new Christian workers in the city, both expat and national.  They are currently asking “What is God up to?” and seeking to leverage the trust others have given us to build strong, gracious relationships among these workers.
  • Pray for church planting movements to break out among the various unreached peoples in this province.  There are approximately 14 unreached people groups, some who need the Bible in their language, and others who need workers to come to them.  May Jesus’ name be lifted up in each and every one!
