Testimony

What's Your Story?

We all have them - stories of victory, stories of loss, stories of growing pains. Jesus loved to tell stories (parables) as a teaching method to connect His message to everyday life and reveal deeper spiritual truths to those who were receptive. We are experiential people who have an easier time understanding truths as they are related to our circumstances and our own lived experience. This is as much true of the people in Jesus's time as it is in ours.

And that's why, here at Bay Area, we think storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to share the gospel. After all, it's what Jesus modeled! So below is an archive of stories of transformation, saving and healing, and being desperately lost and then sweetly found. We hope as you listen/watch you are able to experience Jesus' nearness to your story and learn of (or remember) His faithfulness as you watch it unfold in others. And perhaps even you might be encouraged to take a step of faith and decide to follow Jesus for the first time.

Enjoy.

Shame, regret, loneliness, rejection. Jesus meets us in the darkest places that broken relationships have brought us to. Encountering the freedom and love that Jesus offers changed everything for Nicole and Ronnie.

Global Missions

Why do we go to the nations? Wouldn't it be better to just send money? These are some of the questions Tom wrestled with prior to following God's call to Poland. When he took a step of faith, God produced a place to step.

Overcoming Addiction

Addiction insists that its ways are the norm and promises comfort it can never provide. Jesus met Luke and Jeff in their rock bottom, lifted them to freedom and called them to reorient their lives to a better way.

Serving

We are never more like Jesus than when we are serving. As we serve, we take on more of the character of Christ and God uses us to build up the church and reach the world. Listen to Jeff and Nicole's story of how they began their journey of serving.

Loss

For Brad and Maggie, witnessing loss for others and suffering through it themselves drew them closer to the Lord. For Kristi, it led to a season of wrestling with Him. Ultimately, God used all of the ups and downs of their both of their lives to build a solid foundation of faith.

Mental Health

Jesus pursues us into our lowest lows. There is no pit that his love cannot reach. When the world gives us an identity, Jesus reminds us who he says we are: beloved, chosen, fearfully and wonderfully made. Molly encountered this relentless love and it changed everything.

Faith Step

Our lives are filled with hundreds of steps of faith, big and small. For Jacob it looked like boldly sharing what he already knew to be true in his heart, and for Emily it was turning from the desires of her heart back to Jesus.

Reading the Bible

When we spend time in God's Word, it changes us. Listen to Allison's story of life transformation through diving into the Scriptures, learning from Jesus and taking steps of obedience.
